I am a PhD Student at the University of Chicago, working in the department of South Asian
Languages and Civilizations (SALC) and currently working under the NEEM project. I have a
Masters degree from Tel Aviv University, the Department of East Asian Studies (2014), and a
BA from Tel Aviv University, in the Departments of Philosophy and Literature (2011). My
work focuses on literary productions and their cultural context in the Tamil South of the 17-
18 th centuries, in Sanskrit, Tamil and Marathi. More specifically, and within the framework of
NEEM, I intend to locate and analyze a range of "worldly" orientations in a roughly shared
corpus of literary works, through examining temporal, spatial, and linguistic themes and
features in literary works by poets such as Nīlakaṇṭha Dīkṣita, Rāmabhadra Dīkṣita, and
others.
