Naresh Keerthi conducted doctoral research on the semantics of sensory terms in Sanskrit, at the National Institute of Advanced Studies, Bangalore and Manipal Institute of Higher Education. He is interested in the shared literary histories of Sanskrit, Prakrit, Kannada, Tamil and Telugu. Other areas of interest include the Sanskrit lexicographic tradition, Metaphor theory and Semantics. In the NEEM project, Naresh is studying the role of poetic topoi in Kannada and Sanskrit literature from the 15 th -17 th centuries CE. He is also interested in examining the genres of music and dance compositions from this period.Naresh is Assistant Professor in the School of Linguistics and Literary Studies at the Chinmaya University, Kochi. He teaches Sanskrit literature and Alaṅkāraśāstra.
